At the committee meeting in May it was decided to investigate the move and in April it was proposed and agreed to go ahead with the deal.
The original supplier's costs were considered to be too high and after investigations the committee has decided to purchase the manure from Somerset company Grow Organic.
Including VAT and delivery the purchase will cost £392.70 - meaning the society can sell the 20kilo bags on to plotholders for £7.30 each. This will be a small profit to the society of 14p a bag.
Site representatives will collect names of those interest in buying bags and if you would like to buy in you should contact yours.
The committee decided the £7.30 price represents a significant saving on retail prices.
