Recenet storms have left a number of trees on or around the Lower Penns Road allotment site in a potentially dangerous state, mand it is feared at least one is at imminent risk of collapse.
The allotment society is to write to Torbay Council, the landlord on the plot, to ask for remedial action to be taken urgently.
One tree, above plot 11, has already partially collapsed into the field above the allotment, and it is feared the other half could collapse at any time.
The June meeting of the allotment society heard that when the tree collapses it will damae crops and structures and could injure anyonbe nearby at the time.
The society has contacted the council by telephone but has not yet had a reply, so will make a written approach.
