Tenancy Agreements 2018/19

16/2/2018

Tenancy Agreements for the coming year have now been sent out to all plot-holders. If you have not yet received yours, please contact us to let us know.

Please fill these out and return them as soon as possible. Payment is due by 31st March 2018.

Paragraph (A) 17 of the Tenancy Agreement has been changed slightly this year. As per consultations at the committee meetings, dirty plot letters will now be sent out on a 2 weekly basis to identify neglected or overgrown plots faster than has been done in the past.

Please see here for the full Tenancy Agreement. Please familiarise yourself with this, as any breach of the agreement can potentially result in your plot being removed from you and re-let by the society.

PHGAS Seed Catalogue 2018

16/2/2018

Please see below for the list of seeds available this year through the PHGAS 'shop'.

I think you will find they are all top quality and at bargain prices - far cheaper than shops or garden centres!

Alan Smith will be at the Oakleigh site every Saturday (until further notice) between 10:00 and 13:00 if you would like to go over and buy from him.

The seeds will be kept in the PHGAS shed, so you will have to walk on to the site and up the path to meet him. The main gate should be unlocked.

If you are not able to attend on Saturdays, please either see your site rep, or use the Contact Us page and we will pass your order on to Alan.

Alan has asked if you could bring the correct change, it would really help him.

Minutes of the OPEN Meeting of the Paignton Home Garden & Allotment Society held at the RAOB Club, Paignton on Monday 5 February 2018

5/2/2018

Present: Keith & Jane Parker, Flis Cotton, Joe Wallis, Gary Buckingham, Andrew Bibbings, Alan Smith, Pat Marriott, Kay Mason, Christine Guiver, Jackie Green.

The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.

1.    Apologies: Liz Barnes, Phil Moore, Pat Messenger.

2.    Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

3.    Matters arising from the minutes:
  • Matting for DR path – It has been too wet to do anything about this and so the Chairman will bear it in mind – ongoing.

4.    Correspondence:
  • Letter of introduction from Mike Waymouth re his father Colin on LP site. Sec to thank him for providing contact details.

5.    Chairman’s Report:
  • NAS membership has been renewed and there has been no increase in fees this year.
  • Indemnity insurance across the sites has been renewed.
  • Tuckers Seeds have stopped selling to commercial outlets and we now get our seed supplies from Kings. We had broad beans from Kings last year and everyone agreed that these were very successful, so we are hopeful that other supplies from Kings will be fine.
  • The seed shop will be open at Oakleigh Site from Saturday onwards – sec is to email all plotholders with list of seeds available and prices. Please contact us if you have not received this.
  • New leases are to be sent out this month to all plot-holders. Sec is to prepare an amendment to the leases to show that the notice period for terminating a lease has effectively been reduced from 3 to 2 months. This is in an effort to tidy up the sites.
  • The finances of the Society are not looking too bad. The seeds have yet to be paid for but hopefully sales will cover the cost of these. The packaging and labelling this year has been improved. Most seeds are the same prices as last year.

  • Nothing to report.
